CV Tech Computer Login

User Name & Password

1. Enter the beginning of your @students.cvtech.edu email as your username. Example: Madison.Smith
   If someone else has the same name you may need to add a number; Madison.Smith1 or Madison.Smith2
2. Enter temporary password: Student Client Code with an ! Example: SM76543210!
   Your student client code is the first two letters of your last name capitalized plus a 7 or 8 digit number that is assigned to you. Example: Madison Smith may have SM7654321 or SM76543210. Teachers, In Maestro click student name and look for Student Client Code.
3. You will be prompted to create a new password that you must remember.
   Screen will say “User password must be changed before logging on the 1st time”
4. Click OK and type in the password you just used (student client code example: SM76543210!)
5. Set your new password. Your password must contain:
6. 8 or more characters
7. At least 1 lowercase letter
8. At least 1 uppercase letter
9. At least 1 number or symbol
10. Password cannot contain cvtech, your name, be similar to your username, or be a previous password
11. Memorize your password.  Do not write it down.
    It is important you remember your password, passwords that need to be reset will require IT assistance.
12. Click OK and continue to follow instructions on the computer.

CV Tech Email & Canvas

All students are issued a CV Tech email that is an Office365/Outlook email. Your email will be your username used to login to the computer plus @students.cvtech.edu. Example: Madison.Smith@students.cvtech.edu.  Canvas is accessed through our SSO (Single Sign On).

Log in to the SSO

1. Go to sso.cvtech.edu
2. Enter your email and your password; same as logging on to computer with @students.cvtech.edu after your name
3. Once logged in you can click on the boxes to get to Outlook, Canvas, etc.

4. Access Canvas via the SSO

1. Once you are on the SSO click the box labeled Canvas.
2. This will automatically log you in to Canvas and take you to your dashboard to access your course(s)

3. Access Student Canvas App (not recommended)

1. Download app named Canvas Student
2. Log in to Canvas on a computer
3. Go to Account in the top left corner represented by your picture or a person icon
4. Click QR for Mobile Login
5. Click Proceed
6. Scan the QR code with your mobile device (phone or tablet)
7. This should open the Canvas Student app and log you in.

8. Pairing with an Observer

1. Once on Canvas click Account, Settings, and click Pair with Observer on the right side of the screen
2. Share the pairing code with your parent or guardian
3. They will go to cvtech.instructure.com/login/canvas and click in the top right corner to create an account
