Former CV Tech student David Deskin returned Tuesday to Canadian Valley Technology Center as the featured guest speaker in the school’s Project Connect program.

Deskin shared his story of perseverance and second chances, recounting the time when he was in the chairs they now occupy. He admits to being a difficult student and was even asked to leave high school after multiple suspensions.

Deskin then enrolled in Project Connect and made an academic course correction. Now, he is employed as a realtor in the area and shares a story of encouragement with current students. His message to them was to urge them to study hard and take advantage of the support around them, particularly with graduation approaching. Deskin is now enjoying the rewards of the hard work that helped him get there.
