Criminal Justice students at Canadian Valley Technology Center are collecting food for Thanksgiving gift baskets and are asking for the public’s help.
A collection area has been set up inside the front entrance at the school’s El Reno Campus. Students are requesting frozen hams and turkeys along with other traditional fare, including canned carrots, corn, fruit, green beans, milk and pumpkin. Other staples include instant mashed potatoes, flour, cake and cookie mixes, mac and cheese, pie crusts, sugar and cooking oil.
Food collected will be shared with families in Canadian County. The deadline to deliver items is Nov. 19. The school’s food pantry, which serves students facing food insecurity, is also in need of canned meats, peanut butter, canned soups and microwave meals. The campus is located at 6505 E. Hwy. 66. Visitors should take the middle entrance off Historic Highway 66. Visitor parking is provided.
