Available at Chickasha & El Reno campuses

The Manufacturing and Machining program at CVTech prepares students for a career in the machining field. Students learn blueprint reading, math, measuring tools, and setup and operation of manual machine tools such as lathes, grinding machines, mills and are introduced to CNC machining during their first two years in the program. Students may return as an adult to learn Advanced CNC machining where they will set up, operate, and write programs for CNC mills and lathes and complete an introduction to CADD.

Option – PMT Machinist Apprenticeship

The Machinist Apprenticeship program is a partnership with local industry to provide relevant education and in-depth work-based learning to become a machinist in a manufacturing setting. While in the apprenticeship, the apprentice gets the opportunity to earn while they learn and upon completion they will receive a nationally recognized credential from the U.S. Department of Labor (USDOL). Apprentices learn blueprint reading, math, measuring tools, and setup and operation of manual machine tools such as lathes, grinding machines, and mills. This is available to both high school and adult students.

I signed up for Precision Machining because I really wanted to create things. I liked learning to use state-of-the-art machinery to make everything from hammers to car parts. I didn't understand how much the skills I learned in PMT would help me on my ASVAB when I decided to join the Air Force.
