Would you like to receive classroom instruction and hands-on-training in upholstery skills or take your existing skills to the higher levels of workmanship/craftsmanship required in the upholstery industry? We have your class, right here.

In Basic Upholstery, you learn to select and manipulate fabrics, foam, and backing materials; how to sew on commercial grade equipment; and, how to safely use standard upholstery tools (staple guns, saws, steamers, and various hand tools). Apply your training on small furniture pieces like footstools, dining room chairs, piano benches, throw pillows, and couch cushions. No prerequisites.

In Intermediate Upholstery, you step up to making/installing buttons, installing zippers, cutting/customizing foam for cushions, hand sewing repairs; and, minor furniture repairs. Apply your training on furniture like ottomans, chaise lounges, side chairs, and simple couches/recliners. Prerequisite: Basic upholstery or equivalent experience.

In Advanced Upholstery, you learn techniques (like hand-tied horsehair), auto and marine seats, spring and frame repair, and complicated multi-segment furniture (recliners and sofas). Prerequisite: Basic and Intermediate Upholstery; or, equivalent experience.

Note: For all Upholstery classes - safety glasses required and PLEASE do not bring furniture into the program until approved by the instructor AFTER the first meeting.
