Learn the art and science of Taxidermy from basic through advanced topics. In basic Taxidermy, you will have comprehensive training in using specialized tools, preparing projects for mounting and performing basic finish work. In intermediate Taxidermy, you will enhance your skills by working on small/large mammals and learn project specific finishing techniques. In Advanced Taxidermy, you will study birds, waterfowl and fish; learn about setting up a studio; and learn about obtaining various federal/state/city permits and licenses. Additional advanced topics include building bases, displays and designing state of the art habitats.
If you want to proudly display your trophies and/or start a career in helping others display their trophies, enroll in this class. You will work individually or in teams on projects you are interested in. You are responsible for your own tools, materials and projects. Instructor will provide information on materials, tools and projects the first night of class. Safety Glasses Required.
