• Provide quality patient care before, during and after surgery as a critical part of the surgical team
• Develop a professional working relationship with surgeons, anesthesiologists and nurses
• Experience challenging coursework and relevant instructionin a variety of surgical procedures and clinical settings

This program consists of 768 didactic hours and 480 clinical hours, which is a total of 1248 hours. Number of clinical hours is dependent upon the number of surgical procedures the student has participated in both as a first scrub and second scrub in both general surgical procedures and in specialty surgical procedures.
